Dr. Schvarcz Brigitta

Academic Background

Brigitta Schvarcz is a Ph.D. Candidate in Theoretical Linguistics at Bar-Ilan University. Her research interests include: Formal Semantics; Countability phenomena in language; Educational Linguistics; Language Teacher Education and Professional Identity. She is the vice-chair of the English Teachers’ Association Israel and co-editor of the TEIS Newsletter of TESOL International Association. Since 2011, Brigitta has been a teacher educator for the Israel Ministry of Education, Dept. of Professional Development of Teaching Staff. Her combined expertise in the fields of linguistics and education has led her to design courses and conduct studies which integrate theoretical knowledge with classroom practice. Her pedagogical raison d’être is to provide accessibility to the core structure of a language, as this can lead to fewer learner errors and a more effective EAP experience.
