Dr. Yehudit Aperstein Intelligent Systems Department Head


Academic Background

Dr. Yehudit Aperstein is a senior lecturer (assistant professor) at Afeka College. Dr. Aperstein earned her M.Sc. degree in Strategic Decision Making - Game Theory from the Technion, and holds a Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute of Science, where her research focused on decisionmaking models under constraints. Dr. Aperstein is a graduate of the Weizmann Institute’s two-year study program for graduates in economics and business management. She completed her postdoctoral fellow at Bar-Ilan University, where she worked on decisionmaking under uncertainty, and at the Tel Aviv University, where she worked on decisionmaking based on partial information . Research performed by Dr. Aperstein has been published in the leading scientific journals and she has been awarded several competitive research grants. 

Professional Background

Dr. Aperstein is the founder and the head of the Afeka Center for Data Mining and Decision Making. As part of her work in the center, she has led about 30 projects in the field of decisionmaking under uncertainty, machine learning and intelligent systems. Projects included collaborations with the industry, grant-funded research, and consultation services provided to companies. Dr. Aperstain specializes in text, image and sensor data machine learning. She has been rewarded for excellence in teaching and research, and has 20 years of experience in teaching in Universities and colleges in Israel.
